There are a number of significant differences between the Rocky Hill Coal Project now proposed and the one described in the 2013 EIS.

  • No coal handling preparation plant
  • No overland conveyor
  • No rail loop and train loader on the former Boral timber mill site
  • One less open cut pit.

Instead, coal will be transported by truck via a private haul road on land owned by GRL and Yancoal to the neighbouring Stratford Mine where it will be washed and then transported to the Port of Newcastle for export.
